Waste Management is not a term that one would naturally associate with spiritual growth, however, I believe there is a definite connection. When we consider waste management; we often see mind images of containers of garbage sitting by the curb or bags stacked high in a downtown alley. However, have you considered that when we eliminate our "stuff" we are in some respects using "waste management." Yes, waste management!
We are eliminating that which was once beneficial for "whatever reason" and now is of no value for "better reasons." We are discarding our past feelings of not being good enough, less than, too fat, too thin, too Black, too White, too Latin, too Asian and too "WHATEVER." Shedding ourselves of that madness is "WASTE MANAGEMENT." We are eliminating the waste within our souls that places a burden upon our spirits. That "smelly stuff" that emits an aroma that even the best of perfumes CANNOT disguise.
Managing the garbage that wrecks our beings is the reason that waste management is so important. We must eliminate that which weighs heavy on the spirit to create space to reach our destiny. That garbage can be the "one thing" that prevents us from experiencing our greatest desires.
Waste Management! From this moment on; when you see a garbage truck; ask yourself: Is "my stuff" on that truck and if it isn't "why not"?
Until the next time,
Peaceful thoughts.....
