Hope all is well and you have a great weekend!
I realized something on a different level today and wanted to share it with you. I overslept today and didn't make it to the gym. Now, let me say, while I don't necessarily enjoy working out, it's the benefits I love. However, as I was lamenting the fact that I missed and the money down the tube, it brought me to a deeper understanding of what it means to "take care of you."
I sit for hours building this business and keep very late hours doing so. But, I got today that the first priority should be taking care of me. Why is it that we make certain everyone is taken care of and at times we neglect ourselves? Why don't we make ourselves the most important thing in our own lives? I'm not speaking of being a narcissist or feeling as if I am the center of the universe. No, what I speak of is just making certain I am taking care of me.
I know there are many of you who take care of others first before you take care of you. I am saying to you today; that we must make ourselves a priority. Making ourselves a priority doesn't make us bad people. Taking care of us simply means: we deem ourselves important the same as we would deem others important.
I am making a pledge to myself, that I will "make me a priority" and get up and go to the gym. I know it's good for me and I feel good when I'm done. It's an accomplishment to start the day. It makes me feel good and I honestly enjoy the feeling when I've lifted more weights, ran a little faster and increased my jump rope count. I like the feeling of my muscles when they have been maxed out and also enjoy the good pain once it's done.
So, I get it and I got it! Get my "hiney" up and TAKE CARE OF MYSELF! You do the same for you...Take care of you because at the end of the day....You is all you have!
Until the next time!
Peaceful thoughts!
