Tomorrow, March 8 is International Women's Day! It's already tomorrow somewhere so why not start early. I acknowledge all of the women throughout the world who have paved the way for those of us who benefit today. THANK YOU! I especially want to pay homage to the brave women who created the path for all of us today in America and I say ALL OF US because without their persistent actions both women and men would be experiencing a different America. I THANK YOU!
I wanted to share this video by Justin Laurie that shows the timeline of how far as a nation we have come on women's issues and of course brings to light how far we still must travel. This documentary sheds light on the early pioneers who truly placed themselves in harms way to make certain that generations of women they would never know would benefit from their bravery and foresight. From these beginnings; an international movement was created and today more women than ever are free and those still living their lives under an antiquated mindset are taking small steps to free future generations within their countries.
I am so grateful and appreciative to have benefited from the thousands of women who placed the bricks where my feet can walk easier. I THANK YOU. You will never know my name, however, it's because of you that I walk taller, quicker and with peace of mind on the road that you created. The road you built is larger and with so many lanes that you would be astonished as it is greater than you ever imagined. Your small and courageous steps are not forgotten and again WE ALL THANK YOU! Happy International Women's Day my friends!
Until the next time,
Peaceful thoughts,
-Dorothea
